The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) is offering a special two-day course that is recommended for anyone with direct and indirect supervision over a dementia unit or memory care neighborhood.
The combo offering will be held May 24-25 and and again Sept. 27-28 via video conference call link-ups.
Ideal participants include memory care directors, administrators, administrators-in-training, assistant administrators, directors of nursing and their assistants, activity directors, social workers, consultants and others.
Day 1 will include many hours of seminars and activities for the Certified Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) credential. The curriculum is recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, according to organizers. They add that it is also approved for seven continuing education units for nurses, administrators, social workers and activity professionals.
Day two focuses on Certified Dementia Care Manager (CDCM) credentialing via a three-hour online live class. NCCDP is the only organization in the world to offer this certification, the group says.
Registration can be completed via this link and specifying the May or September offering. Seating is limited, organizers said.
The NCCDP website also has a plethora of educational and training information as well.
