The American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living will hold its annual Congressional Briefing in Washington, DC, June 5 and 6.
Hundreds of members will attend sessions headed by association leaders and hear from DC leaders directly before heading up to the Capitol to meet with representatives from their respective states.
Reps. Hakeem Jeries (D-NY-8), House Democratic leader, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), chairwoman of the Energy & Commerce Committee will be featured speakers. AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson, AHCA Board Chair Phill Fogg, and Clifton J. Porter, II, senior vice president of government relations will also offer comments on legislative priorities for long-term care.
Key topics this session include the workforce crisis, minimum staffing requirements, temporary nurse aides and the nurse training lock out.
